Fur mittens can become a vital piece of clothing during a harsh winter or just a stylish and beautiful accessory for a fashionista. They can be sewn from any fur, both natural and artificial.
It is necessary
- - pieces of fur;
- - blade or sharp knife;
- - needle and strong thread;
- - thimble.
Instructions
Step 1
As with sewing any other product, you will need a pattern. It is very simple to make it. Place your palm against a piece of paper and trace around it (excluding your thumb). For the cuff, add five to seven centimeters.
Step 2
Cut a blank out of paper and transfer it to cardboard, adding 1, 5 centimeters at the edges. Make the second pattern for the inside of the mitten in the same way, but you need to make a cutout for the thumb on it. To do this, one centimeter above the wrist and one centimeter from the side edge, draw two perpendicular segments with sides of 5 and 4 centimeters (they should intersect in the middle). Connect the ends of these segments with a smooth line to form an oval.
Step 3
Next, make a pattern for your thumb. Place it on a piece of paper and circle it. Add 0.5cm seam allowances on each side, fold in half along the large side and cut out.
Step 4
Place the patterns on the flesh of the skin or the seamy side of the faux fur and trace around with a pen or felt-tip pen. When cutting, pay attention to the location of the pile. It should lie in relation to the wrist.
Step 5
Cut the parts carefully with a razor blade or sharp knife, gently pushing the pile apart.
Step 6
Sew the details by hand with a seam over the edge or a buttonhole. Place the stitches close together. Then turn the mitten right out. Sew a bias tape along the edge.
Step 7
Use this pattern to make a lining from a suitable fabric. Sew the parts by hand or with a sewing machine. Without twisting, insert into a fur mitten. It is more convenient to do this by putting it on your hand.
Step 8
Fold the tape inward and sew the lining to it. One mitten is ready, sew the second in the same way.
