Director Ridley Scott, author of the cult fantastic "horror" "Aliens", returned to the plot of that film and created a new blockbuster about the collision of alien monsters with earthly astronauts. And this time the film bears the title from one word - "Prometheus". Unlike the first film, the new work is expected with disproportionate interest from both Alien fans and Ridley Scott's fans as a director.

It became known in 2010 that the film, somehow connected with the plot of "Aliens" (1979), would be filmed under the wise guidance of the author himself. Then the master, who has won worldwide fame over these 30 years, said that it would be a prequel - the events of the film are dated 30 years ago from the discovery of the alien ship by the astronauts of "Nostromo". However, over the next year and a half, the script has changed significantly, and now Ridley Scott says that the plot has outgrown the prequel and will narrate about an independent universe, only indirectly related to the history of "Aliens".

The film's budget is rumored to be a quarter billion dollars. If 11 million were spent on Aliens and the film won an Oscar for its special effects, what effects should you expect for the money? The film stars Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce. The script was written by Damon Lindelof and John Spates under the supervision of Ridley Scott.

The first trailer for the film was released in December 2011 and has greatly fueled the interest of potential viewers, professional reviewers and film professionals. In early May 2012, it became known that the Film Producers Association of America imposed an age limit on Ridley Scott's film, assigning it an R rating. 20th Century Fox would have preferred a PG13 rating, which sets a much softer age limit, which should give significantly higher profit at the box office. Scott himself initially stated that he intends to defend all scenes, including those that may cause restrictions.

The world premiere of "Prometheus" was set for May 30 this year. In Russia, this event was postponed one day later, and in the United States, the start of distribution is expected a whole week later - on June 8. In an interview, Ridley Scott says that if the film is successful at the box office, he will be engaged in creating a sequel.
