To depict a tree with leaves, it is necessary to mentally divide the plant into its main parts, draw all the elements and supplement the picture with details characteristic of this species.
It is necessary
Pencil, eraser, paints, brushes on paper
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start drawing a tree, think about what kind of plant you want to depict, since the structure of the trunk, the arrangement of branches and the shape of the leaves can be very different from one species to another. You can depict a coniferous or deciduous tree, a member of the palm family.
Step 2
Find photos of the tree you are interested in on the Internet or in the encyclopedia, they will help you draw a similar plant.
Step 3
Start your drawing with a picture of the trunk. In most trees it is fairly straight, but in some, such as pines, the main shoot is curved. In addition, its proportions can vary considerably. For example, elms and oaks have a thick snaggy trunk, while in birches or willows it is elongated and thin.
Step 4
Draw the main branches. At this stage, it is important to take into account the location of their separation from the trunk and the inclination. So, in spruce trees, they begin not high from the ground, and in deciduous trees, they begin higher. As for the slope of the branches, please note that under the weight of large leaves and fruits, they can bend to the ground. In most cases, no leaves grow on the main branches.
Step 5
Supplement the main branches with young shoots. They are much thinner and do not have cracks, build-ups.
Step 6
Draw leaves on young branches. Their shape is determined by the type of tree, so before you start drawing, clarify the structure of the leaves of a particular plant.
Step 7
Add details to the drawing. To make the image more realistic, select the growths and cracks in the bark at the bottom of the trunk, draw inflorescences or fruits on the branches. Try to match your tree with the background. For example, you shouldn't paint a tree with buds if you want to depict an autumn landscape.
Step 8
Start coloring. Try to choose paints that match the color of the foliage and trunk of a particular tree as much as possible. For example, oak bark has an earthy hue, and ash - grayish, birch can be not only white, but also pale yellow. Also note that young foliage has a richer and more delicate color.
