There are several main types of trees, having mastered drawing of which, you can draw any tree in the future. All of them differ from each other in the shape of the crown, trunks and branches, as well as in the color of the bark and leaves.
Instructions
Step 1
Start drawing the tree from the ground. Many people neglect the drawing of the support, starting from the trunk. Thus, the tree “breaks off” from its roots. Earth is needed for the same reason the head needs a neck. You can draw a smooth lawn, but the stony earth, drawn like rocks, will look more bold. It is very important to use pure deep colors already at this stage, otherwise later you will have to repeatedly work through the details, leveling out the blurry shapes. If you are working not with paints, but in a graphic editor using a tablet, then in no case add transparency to the paints.
Step 2
Trunk Draw the trunk, which is a regular curved line. To do this, take a wide brush and paint in brown paint. Next, add with thinner strokes some skeletal branches that will serve as the basis for the crown of the tree. Conifers have a straight trunk, the main branches lean slightly towards the ground. The lower the branches, the thicker they are. If you are drawing a birch, make one trunk with two main branches (a slingshot) or two side-by-side trunks. In this case, the trunks are more flexible than in the previous one, and their ends are directed inward. Such trees have few branches, but they have a lush crown.
Step 3
Branches Take a thin brush and start painting the thinnest branches. The direction of growth of branches in deciduous trees is upward, do not forget about this. Birch branches change color over time. Very young, dark red, the older they get, the lighter the bark. The oldest are pure white. Consider this point to make the birch more realistic.
Step 4
The crown The more detail you work on the skeleton of the tree, the easier it will be to draw the crown. In deciduous trees, it is lighter and thicker than in conifers. Take a thick brush, paint in the desired shade of green paint and fill in the gaps between the branches. If you are painting with watercolors, which are translucent by themselves, you can apply a layer of green paint directly over the branches. Just be sure to wait until the previous layer of paint has completely dried. Now you need to make the crown more colorful. Mix green and brown and set off the outline of the crown. Then add yellow to the green and go down the center. This will stop the tree from being flat.
