The longer she resists in her hands, the greater the likelihood of damage to internal organs. Subsequently, such a fish will quickly die.

Step 2

Place the catch in a cage, and place the cage in the water next to bushes or in a thicket of grass in the shade. It is better to select the size of the cells according to the dimensions of the intended catch, so that the heads do not get stuck. Do not fill the cage with fish so that they do not beat or rub against each other. In addition, peaceful and predatory fish cannot be kept together. The mucus secreted by different species is detrimental to another group. Check the cage often. If you notice a fish that is dead or already asleep, immediately remove it from the container. Otherwise, the whole catch will be spoiled.

Carry a kukan, a sturdy cord with wire loops at the end. It is wiser to store large and predatory fish in this way, because it needs a lot of space and good oxygen circulation. You don't even have to pull it out, but immediately take it out into shallow water, put it on a kukan and fix its end on the shore. In order not to damage the gills, you can fasten the loop to the lower jaw of the fish.

If it is not possible to keep the fish alive, kill and gut it. Then you need to cut out the gills and dry the fish in the shade. It should be covered with protective mucus. Next, you should wrap each carcass separately in withered alder or nettle leaves and put it in a wicker basket, you can wrap it in a rag.

Step 5

A good option is to dig a hole in the shade, line it with alder or nettles, wrap the fish in grass and sprinkle the hole with sand. For one or two days, the fish will definitely stay fresh in it.

Step 6

Buy a thermal bag if funds permit. A couple of ice bottles - and the fresh catch will reach home even in extreme heat. Craftsmen fit a sleeping bag instead of a thermal bag.
