The electric guitar is a rather specific instrument. For a good sound, it is not enough just to tune it. The internal electronics of an electric guitar is capable of transmitting electromagnetic and radio waves through itself, which, with amplified sound, can create unnecessary noise or the so-called background. This creates some difficulties when working on clean sound in the studio. In a room with a lot of equipment, a poorly shielded guitar makes it possible to even listen to the radio.

- - graphite in a spray can;

- - stationery knife;
- - two brushes;
- - cotton wool;
- - conditioner for the guitar.
Instructions
Step 1
Shielding, or protection of the internal electronics, prevents background noise. Many mass-produced guitars, not only cheap, but also semi-professional from well-known manufacturers, need shielding, since it is impossible to correctly perform it on the conveyor.
Step 2
It is not difficult to shield an electric guitar at home, for this you need: copper or aluminum foil, liquid copper, graphite in a spray can, a screwdriver, wire cutters, a stationery knife, two brushes, cotton wool and a conditioner for the guitar.
Step 3
Before proceeding directly with the shielding itself, remove all attachments (mounts, tremolo mechanism, pickups, timbre block), remove dust from all cavities with a brush with a hard bristle and the remains of polishing paste with guitar conditioner.
Step 4
Treat the channels with the wires connecting the pickups and the tone unit with graphite, connected to the atomizer of the graphite cartridge with a thin tube. Having poured graphite from a can into another vessel, brush the entire inner part of the case with a brush.
Step 5
The next step is shielding the external overlays. Glue the foil onto the double-sided tape from the inside, leaving no exposed areas. Alternatively, mix the Moment glue with toluene to create a scotch-like mixture. It is better to glue the foil in small places, and then smooth it with a dry piece of cloth. Remove any leftover foil with a utility knife.
Step 6
Carefully coat the output socket with graphite, as well as the inside and outside of the jack socket. The output socket can be located on a separate plate, which will need to be cleaned and also covered with a graphite layer. It does not dry for long: 10-15 minutes. At the point of drying, gray matt spots are slightly visible, as if from spraying.
