Pick up good paper, it should be thick enough and bend well, keep its shape. For simple crafts, ordinary colored cardboard or writing paper will work, but for complex shapes, buy a special material of good quality.

Familiarize yourself with and try to make basic shapes - folds and diagrams, which often take part in the construction of complex shapes. Developers of origami manuals do not always consider it necessary to describe their construction, assuming that the reader is already familiar with them

Find a good tutorial that details origami diagrams. The manual can be found in print (books, magazines, newspapers) or electronic (origami sites, blogs, etc.). To get started, choose easy diagrams, when viewing which you will understand all the steps.

If even the detailed description baffles you, look for origami video courses. While looking at the video, memorize the step, then pause the playback and perform the action yourself. When you master the basic techniques and learn how to make the simplest shapes, move on to more difficult tasks. At first, you can simplify the collection of complex shapes using glue, but remember that real origami are created without glue.
