Step 1
You can draw trees using any visual materials: pencils, paints, pastels. This largely depends on the appearance of the tree or the season in which it is depicted in the picture. To paint a willow, it would be best to use watercolors - they will optimally convey the volume, splendor and at the same time the lightness of the luxurious crown of this tree.
Step 2
Start drawing the willow tree from the trunk. To do this, dip the brush in brown paint and outline the outline of the trunk with the first two vertical strokes. After that, you can paint over it. By adding a little more water to the paper, you can get a variety of shades, from light brown to almost black, thereby conveying a realistic texture of bark.
Step 3
After that, you can proceed to drawing the branches. Depending on the type of willow, they may point upward or lean towards the ground. Try to depict just such a "weeping" willow. To do this, from the top of the trunk, begin to draw lines smoothly curving towards the ground. At the ends, they can additionally branch - to depict this, take the thinnest brush.
Step 4
The willow foliage is quite dense. To paint it, brush in green paint and press the nap sideways all the way. An oblong trail with a pointed tip will remain on the paper. by adjusting the pressure, you can make wider and narrower leaves. Cover each of the drawn branches with foliage.
Step 5
Part of the leaves will have to be drawn over the trunk. At this point, the brown paint will have dried, but will shine through the green. This will give the effect of transparency - the tree trunk will shine through the foliage.
If it seems to you that the barrel is not realistic enough, you can enhance its texture by drawing thin vertical lines with a darker shade of brown paint.
