Palm Sunday is one of the most anticipated holidays among Christians. On this day, in almost every home, you can see willow twigs, which are a symbol of spring, rebirth, health, joy, divine resurrection.
Speaking of willow and willow, most people think that this is the same tree, but this is far from the case: although both of these plants belong to the willow family, there are slight differences between them.
It is worth noting that after winter the willow wakes up before the willow: fluffy white earrings, which have a slightly oblong shape, break through. The willow blooms a little later, and only during the period when the leaves begin to bloom. Her earrings are more elongated and light yellow in color. The willow bark is red, red-brown, yellow or brown, while willow bark is greenish or gray. As for the branches and leaves, the willow is the owner of thin, easily bendable twigs and narrow pointed leaves, the willow has poorly bendable branches and wide, rounded medium-sized leaves.
These plants also differ in their place of growth. For example, willow most often grows near water bodies (ponds, rivers, lakes, etc.), as well as in swampy areas, while willow can be found almost everywhere.
If we consider the willow and willow from afar, then they have significant differences: in the willow, the crown is more often oval (elongated), willow - spherical (due to the spreading and hanging of the branches).
