Large silk scarves are just a godsend for a needlewoman. If you have an urgent need to create a sophisticated blouse or beach skirt, there is no better material. You can come up with a style that does not even need to be sewn, especially since modern fashion treats such "outfits in five minutes" very positively.
Beach suit
The beach suit will consist of two parts - a skirt and a top. A skirt of the simplest beach style does not need to be sewn. Wrap a scarf so that one of the sides lies on the waist, tie the corners with a double knot - the skirt is ready. If you are a little confused by a too long cut, sew on opposite sides of the scarf. You can make a short cut, or you can do without it altogether. Sew the top of the skirt with a needle-forward seam. Make assemblies. Sew a wide elastic band on top. The bottom of the beach outfit is ready.
As for the top, several options are also possible. For example, you can make a short topic. Fold the scarf in half. Find the midpoint of the fold line and mark. Make cuts on both sides of it so that the head passes freely. Sew the fold line with basting stitches. It is better to take contrasting threads. Try what you get. Along the fold lines, lay beautiful folds in the manner of those made on a Greek dress. Pin them with tailor's pins. Carefully remove the top, run a stitch along the fold and remove the pins. Sew the side seams. Overlock the cutout. If you wish, you can stitch the topic to the same elastic belt - you get a sundress.
Instead of a knot, the top of the skirt can be chopped off with a brooch.
Tunic
Two large silk shawls will make a gorgeous tunic. A pattern is not needed for her. Fold the scarves together, aligning all sides and corners. To prevent them from slipping, sweep them together with a few stitches. Lay the workpiece on a horizontal surface with an angle towards you. From the corner, set aside 10-15 cm on each side, connect the marks. Cut off the top of the corner. This will be the neck. Sew the sides of the scarves from the neckline to the corners. Try on a tunic. If you're comfortable with it, your job is done. But the sleeves, smoothly turning into the shelf and back, are not to everyone's liking, so you can separate the parts. Place the tunic on the table. Parallel to the line, draw lines parallel to it at a distance equal to the width of the sleeve (15-20 cm). Sleeve length is determined empirically during fitting. Make marks at the level of the armpits, check that the points are symmetrical. Connect the marks with a straight line, and then draw perpendiculars down to this line. Stitch the sleeves and side seams. The blouse is ready.
If you have a wide belt, you don't need to sew the tunic on the sides.
Greek dress
A short woman can even sew a Greek dress out of two shawls. Fold the scarves together and pin them at the corners. Find the middle of one side and make a mark. Set aside 10-15 cm on each side for the neckline. Baste and stitch the shoulder seams, then fold the folds over the shoulders. It is best to do this with an assistant, because the folds need to be swept or chipped off immediately. Take off the dress and sew a second line, securing the folds. Mark the armhole height and sew the side seams. You can also lay folds along the chest line.
