All our life we are surrounded by so many different sounds that we often do not notice them. True, sometimes it turns out that along with the music or conversation, the noise of the wind, the sound of the engine of a car passing by, or the noise of the video camera mechanism were recorded. There are many ways to remove noise from a recording. One of these ways is to use the Adobe Audition audio editor.

It is necessary

  • 1. Adobe Audition audio editor
  • 2.sound file from which you want to remove noise

Instructions

Step 1

Open the audio file in Adobe Audition in edit mode. Select the "File" menu, the "Open" item. You can also use the "Ctrl + O" hotkeys. From the "Workspace" menu, select "Edit View default".

Step 2

Select the section of the recording that contains only the noise that you want to remove. To do this, place the cursor at the beginning of this segment and drag the cursor to the end of the fragment containing only noise while holding down the left mouse button.

Step 3

Define a noise reduction profile. To do this, in the main menu, select the Filters menu, the Restoration item, the Capture Noise Reduction Profile sub-item. You can use the keyboard shortcut "Alt + N".

Step 4

Open the filter window. To do this, in the main menu, select the "Filters" menu, the "Restoration" item, the "Noise Reduction process" sub-item.

In the window that opens, click on the "Select entire file" button. In the "Noise reduction settings" panel, select "Remove noise". Click on the "Preview" button. Listen to the result.

Step 5

Adjust the squelch level. To do this, move the "Noise reduction level" slider and click on the "Preview" button again to evaluate the result of applying the current settings. At the moment, the noise has not been removed from the file yet.

Step 6

Remove noise from the recording. To do this, click the "OK" button in the open filter window.

Step 7

Save the resulting sound file. It is best to save the file from which the noise has been removed under a different name through the File menu, Save As, or by using the Ctrl + Shift + S hotkeys. Perhaps in the future it will turn out that the noise from the recording has not been removed well enough, or some of the useful sound has been removed along with the noise. In this case, the original recording will be helpful.
