Despite the fact that the end of the world, promised by the Maya Indians in December 2012, did not take place, some part of humanity is still preparing for the Apocalypse. In the end, there are more and more doomsday forecasts, and it is quite possible that at least one of them will come true. But what will the planet look like after that?
The end of the world is a global catastrophe that will lead to the death of most of the world's population, various cataclysms, climatic changes and other unpleasant events. There are many detailed scenarios for the end of the world caused by man-made, biological, natural, mystical or other reasons. Naturally, depending on what exactly will cause the end of the world, one or another post-apocalyptic forecast is realized.
The first days after the end of the world
Since the topic of the death of humanity has been one of the most popular in the past few decades, it is not surprising that in literature and cinema there are a lot of works describing the remnants of the human race and their struggle to survive on the planet after a disaster. Based on this, you can form a certain idea of how the world will look after the end of the world. Most scenarios have a few things in common, although the nuances tend to vary.
In past centuries, the end of the world was predicted about five hundred times, but humanity still lives and flourishes, so many people are skeptical about the likelihood of the death of civilization.
So, the cataclysm that has occurred (nuclear war, epidemic, meteorite fall, climatic catastrophe) will lead to the death of about 90% of humanity. This will cause chaos, political and economic crisis, due to which the remnants of the Earth's population will quickly lose their civilized appearance and turn into primitive creatures, concerned only with finding food and survival. It is assumed that with the destruction of moral norms and values characteristic of a highly developed civilization, a struggle for existence will unfold, in which the most powerful and primitive representatives of the human race will win, for whom killing their neighbor will not be an ethical problem. This, in turn, will lead to the loss of most of the fundamental knowledge and skills, and, consequently, there will be a huge technological decline. In addition, the surviving remnants of the population will not be enough for the efficient production of consumer goods, energy, food, which will also cause the decline of civilization and technology.
The post-apocalyptic reality is reflected in many computer games, some of which, for example, Fallout, have become real hits.
Will the remnants of humanity survive?
Most likely, if after the end of the world there remains a sufficient number of people on Earth for reproduction, they will have to go a long way of technological and social development, which will be complicated by the consequences of a global cataclysm. This path will include the formation of groups for survival according to the type of primitive tribes, the division of responsibilities, the emergence of a primitive economy, the rudiments of the state. Naturally, all this is possible only if, after a catastrophe, the planet remains a place suitable for life. Otherwise, those who did not die during the end of the world will be doomed to extinction due to unbearable conditions, such as a nuclear winter.
