Clutch bags will probably never go out of style. They are comfortable, elegant and simply irreplaceable as a complementary accessory to the evening dress. Of course, there should be a separate handbag for each outfit, and not everyone can afford such a luxury. However, any needlewoman can sew a fashionable clutch on her own.

It is necessary

  • - a sheet of A4 paper (for patterns);
  • - material for the bag (a dense fabric with an original pattern, sewn sequins, fur beads or pieces of leather (natural or artificial) is suitable;
  • - scissors;
  • - threads;
  • - needles;
  • - pencil;
  • - tailor's pins;
  • - zipper with a length of about 40 centimeters;
  • - padded button;
  • - sewing machine.

Instructions

Step 1

Make a clutch pattern on a Whatman paper and cut it out. Choose the sizes at your discretion, depending on what kind of handbag you need.

Step 2

Attach the finished parts of the pattern to the fabric, pin them with tailor's pins, circle with a pencil. Provide seam allowances of one centimeter on each side. You should get 2 pieces of fabric from each piece of the pattern.

Step 3

Fold together two identical parts of the future clutch with the right side to each other. Fasten them together with tailor's needles, stitch them together, leaving a small area not sewn up. Turn out the sewn parts of the bag and stitch in the remaining section.

Step 4

Repeat the same steps with the second part of the parts. Sew in one half of the zipper on the smaller part of the clutch.

Step 5

Fold together the prepared parts of the future clutch, fasten them together with tailor's needles, grind together. On the large part of the clutch, at the level of the front (smaller) part, sew the other half of the zipper. When sewing the front and back parts of the clutch bag, make sure that the level of the clasp does not move or skew.

Step 6

Secure the ends of the zipper. Iron the inner seams in the purse so that they do not stick out, turn the product to the right side.

Step 7

Above the zipper on most of the piece (which acts as the back of the purse), machine a folded stitch to form the edge of the fold-over flap.

Step 8

On the overlay valve, tap a button to secure it. The clutch is ready. Details of the pattern can be used for sewing other models of handbags.
