Layering is one of the fashion trends. In such outfits, a vest is the soloist; it is sewn from costume fabrics, knitwear and fur. By the way, fur vests are a hit of the season. They were presented in their collections by J. Mendel, Loewe, Cynthia Steffe and many other brands. It is not at all necessary to pay dearly for a designer model; any needlewoman can sew such a vest.
It is necessary
- - several plates of fur;
- - lining fabric;
- - pattern;
- - "magic" tailor's chalk;
- - fur coat hooks;
- - finishing trim made of leather or textile;
- - a needle;
- - threads;
- - razor blade;
- - sewing machine.
Instructions
Step 1
When you go to the store to choose fur for sewing a vest, take a pattern with you. There you can attach plates to it and buy the required amount of fur. If you are going to alter an old fur coat, peel off the lining, mark the frayed areas on the flesh and attach a pattern.
Step 2
Circle the pattern with a "magic" tailor's chalk, the marks from which disappear by themselves. It can be purchased at specialized fabric stores. Pay attention to the direction of the pile. Cut out the details with a razor or sharp scalpel, being careful not to damage the fur.
Step 3
Cut out similar pieces from the lining fabric. Stitch the shoulder and sides of the lining. Iron the seams.
Step 4
Fold the details of the back and shelves with each other with the fur inward. Sew the side and shoulder cuts by hand with an overhand or goat seam.
Step 5
Insert the lining into the fur vest (wrong sides to each other). Grind the sections.
Step 6
On the seamy side of the vest, using a tailor's chalk, draw lines for aligning the finishing lines at a distance of 5 cm from the cuts. Use basting stitches to transfer the alignment lines to the front of the vest.
Step 7
Sew the details of the trimming tape with a zigzag stitch along the outer cuts of the vest, while unscrewing the pile on the details of the tape. Place folds on it at the bottom corners of the shelf. Unscrew the tape to the front side, bending around the cuts of the vest, pin with safety pins along the alignment line and stitch from the front with a zigzag stitch.
Step 8
There is another less complicated way of processing the cuts, however, the fur in these places will be wiped off, but if you intend to wear the vest only occasionally, then this method will suit you. Fold back 0.5 - 1 cm of fur to the wrong side and carefully hem with a blind seam. Start at the neckline, then hem the placket while sewing on the fur coat hooks. Then process the armholes and the bottom of the product. The fashionable vest is ready.
