A dress is the most attractive thing in a woman's wardrobe. She helps to surprise, delight, attract and enchant the male sex. Evening, cocktail, classic black - there are hundreds of options, and each has its own flavor. Buying and choosing such an outfit is often a hassle. Cut, style, size, color, quality - dozens of models need to be measured to find the one and only perfect one. However, you can look at the situation from the other side and, saving your own time and money, sew a fashionable dress yourself.
It is necessary
- - sewing machine;
- - scissors, needles, threads, measuring tape, ruler, crayons;
- - sewing magazines;
- - decorative ornaments;
- - tissue cuts.
Instructions
Step 1
Flip through sewing magazines and simply glossy fashion magazines to find the model you like. Choose dresses that are simple to cut if you are new to DIY sewing. Think about what you will wear the chosen outfit, whether it will look good on your figure, what color is better to choose. Then, head to a fabric store to purchase what you need.
Step 2
Prepare your workspace. A table or flat surface is required for cutting. Take care of good lighting and cleanliness of the surface of the sewing machine, namely the plates and feet, where the fabric can inadvertently get dirty during the sewing process.
Step 3
From the sequin fabric, cut a rectangle 18 cm wide and about 90 cm long. It is advisable to use an elastic fabric, since the bustier dress model assumes the presence of a tight-fitting bodice. Sew a side seam and overlock. Twist the top of the top twice and sew 5 mm from the edge. Set the sewing speed to minimum if your sewing machine has this function. If not, sew slowly, carefully lowering the needle as the overlapping sequins prevent the needle and stitch from running smoothly.
Step 4
Fold the gray fabric, like a napkin, into a square, so that the front side of the panel is inside. Now tailor the sun skirt. Let the length of the skirt remain arbitrary for now, and the base of the top free.
Step 5
Gather the top edge of the skirt with spandex threads. Then hand baste the top to the skirt, creating decorative pleats on both sides of the garment off-center. Try on a dress, it should fit tightly on your chest, not fall off and not interfere with movement. If everything fits right, stand on your heels and mark with chalk or a pin the required length of the finished product near the mirror.
Step 6
Sew both parts, take out the basting, work over the edges. Focusing on the mark of the desired length, zap the straight line, leaving a one centimeter allowance for the hem. Cut off the excess and overwrap the bottom cut of the part. Then fold the fabric over and sew 0.3mm from the edge.
Step 7
The dress can be decorated with a thin lace strip along the bottom of the skirt, which coquettishly looks out from under the main fabric. You can add decorative straps made of rhinestones, beads or metal chains.
