A ballad is a lyrical, epic work, a kind of story presented in poetic form. Despite the fact that ballads are of completely different directions, both heroic and historical, mythical, everyday, tragic and amorous in nature, they all, in fact, express the feelings and emotions of folklore. That is why this genre is so popular in folk art.

Instructions

Step 1

In order to compose a ballad you do not need to be a poet, you only need to be a thinking and spiritually whole person.

Sit down and focus on the moral, mental problems that bother you, think about what events in your life had, perhaps, a dramatic plot, or an unexpected tragic or comedic denouement. Look into your soul, perhaps you will find there love experiences experienced sometime in the past. … It is through such reflections that the ballad is born.

Step 2

The main thing is to determine how you feel, based on this, determine what kind of ballad you will write: heroic, love, comic, perhaps some kind of fabulous and magical ballad inspired by the lines read from the favorite ballad of the classic poet, or … a ballad inspired by the events seen somewhere in the back of your area.

Step 3

Remember the heroic act that you or someone of your acquaintances did, about which they still talk and remember, or the sensational love story or the soapy melodrama of everyday life …

Try to present these events in verse in such a way that they can be sung, i.e. later to transfer to music. If ideas do not come immediately, do not be upset, most likely, they will come when you feel "bad and sad and sad at heart, and it will rain outside." Inspiration may not come noticeably, and then you get a masterpiece.

Step 4

When writing, do not limit yourself to what you saw and remember, only on your feelings and memories, actively use hyperbole, distort facts, focus on the main "theme" of your work. In order to "call" the muse, use classical music as a background (for example, the sounds of the harp), also reread the ballads that you especially like, perhaps after reading them you will be inspired and the lines will "flow" like a river.

Train and everything will work out, the main thing is that you have something or someone to write about.
