Step 1
Think about what kind of doll you want to portray, because the details of the drawing depend on the model. Now there are many dolls that are completely different from traditional toys, for example, languid porcelain beauties with curled locks, long-legged fashionistas like Barbie, Moxie or Bratz, goth dolls and even creepy vampires with glass red eyes that look truly terrifying. The proportions of the drawn toy depend on how the body parts of the original model relate to each other.
Step 2
Start with the body and head. Since the doll personifies a person, the image of this toy is not very different from the drawing of the human body. Make sure that the head and torso are proportional to each other. Draw with small, non-greasy strokes, it is better to remove all auxiliary lines afterwards and leave one clear outline of the shape. Draw hair on the head - curls or straight, some dolls have bangs.
Step 3
Draw the arms and legs. Most dolls do not bend their arms and legs, reflect this in the drawing. If the joints of the limbs are connected by hinges, the arms and legs of the dolls can take on a variety of positions. If the doll is dressed in a long dress, you do not need to draw her legs, the main thing is to observe the proportions so that the hem is not too long or short in comparison with the model's body.
Step 4
Depict the doll's outfit, headdress, jewelry, bows. Please note that dolls are often supplied with various accessories - an umbrella, a basket, a small toy. Draw a lot of frills, lace flounces, bows on the dress. Do not forget about the belt, it is present in almost all doll outfits.
Step 5
Pay attention to the little things. To make the drawing resemble a doll as much as possible, and not a girl or a child, make your gaze frozen, directed at one point. Dolls usually have wide eyes and long eyelashes. Also note that the mouth of the dolls is absolutely symmetrical, most often it is closed, but sometimes they have teeth drawn. Reflect in the drawing the texture of the material from which the doll is made - wood, porcelain or plastic.
