Modern nesting dolls depict anything from celebrity faces to lunar landscapes. Therefore, when drawing a wooden toy on paper, you can reflect all these trends or give preference to traditional Russian patterns.

Instructions
Step 1
Start your drawing with a pencil sketch. Construct two circles of different sizes, the largest of them will be the body of the nesting doll, and the smaller one will be the head. If you don't have a compass, circle two round objects, such as glasses, bottles, or cream tube lids. It is important that the circles have a common area. The smaller this area is, the more elongated the matryoshka will turn out, and the larger, the stockier.
Step 2
Draw the outline of the nesting doll using flowing connecting lines between the circles. Use the eraser to erase the construction lines that remain from the sketch.
Step 3
Draw the face of the matryoshka. To do this, draw a circle in a small circle, in it eyes, a mouth and a nose. As for the hair, as a rule, nesting dolls have a straight parting, less often a slanting one, but you can depict bangs or curls.
Step 4
Start decorating the matryoshka outfit. To do this, first draw handles and items of clothing for her. It can be an apron, a short fur coat, a collar. As for the headdress, matryoshkas are usually painted with a scarf on their head or with a kokoshnik. Sometimes a Russian toy is simply painted in one color and flowers or leaves are depicted on it with simple strokes without drawing.
Step 5
Choose a motif to decorate your clothes. It can be a traditional Russian painting, for example, Khokhloma, Gorodets or Gzhel, or something less standard - ethnic northern motives, a graphic drawing or a vintage pattern - you can depict anything your heart desires on the matryoshka.
Step 6
Start coloring. Apply the base color first, wait for the paint to dry. Then start drawing the details from large to small. Don't forget your face. Usually matryoshkas are painted with plump scarlet lips and eyes with arrows and long eyelashes. To make it look like a real wood craft, use gold paint or special glitter.
