Spring comes, the snow melts, and streams begin to ring. To return to childhood, make small boats with your children and launch them on long voyages.

It is necessary

  • Waxed milk carton
  • or disposable foam tray
  • Scissors
  • Sushi stick
  • Paper
  • Threads
  • Plasticine
  • Rubber boots (optional)

Instructions

Step 1

Toy boats can be made from anything. When we were little, we even used ordinary sticks and matches in the form of boats. And this did not prevent them from swimming very quickly and happily overtaking each other.

But today we will be making real sailboats.

Step 2

First, let's decide what our ship will be made of. We can make it from two materials, depending on which one you have on hand.

The first option is to make a boat out of a milk box. Be sure to make sure that the bag is waxed so that it stays in the water for a long time and does not get wet. We take the box and cut it from top to bottom in half. Thus, we have two halves in our hands. Each half of the box can be a separate boat. But our task is to make a sailboat. To do this, set the "normal" boat aside (it can be used in the event of a hole in our future sailboat, in reserve for repair work).

In the second half, we need to set the sail.

Step 3

We make a sail from a sheet of paper. Cut out the triangle and attach it to the sushi stick. You can just pierce the paper, or you can wind the paper with threads. Then we fix our sail in the center of the boat using plasticine. At the same time we add weight to our sailboat in this way. Now you can start it sailing.

Step 4

The second option for making a boat is to cut it out of a foam tray. You choose the shape of the boat yourself, and then, using plasticine, you attach the finished sail to the center of the boat. Although you can just stick a stick into the foam, it is better to fix it with plasticine anyway and make our sailboat heavier for greater stability.
