To convey the atmosphere of an event, it is not necessary to depict it in all the details; it is often enough to notice the most characteristic details. This also applies to the New Year's holiday - you can smell the tangerines and hear the crunch of snow by looking at the picture, which shows only a sprig of spruce.

It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - pencil;
  • - eraser;
  • - watercolor;
  • - brushes;
  • - palette.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a sheet of watercolor paper. Try to find material that is not white, but tinted, ivory. Use light, barely noticeable pencil lines to mark its space. Divide the paper in half horizontally and vertically. Bells, a ball and a bump will be located in the upper left part. The lower right square is balanced by the thickest part of the spruce paw. Leave some "air" in the remaining areas.

Step 2

Refine the shape of the decorations on the tree. For the ball, draw the vertical and horizontal axes (they should be equal in length). In the center, draw an ellipse to represent the volume of the ball. Connect the ends of the axes and sides of the ellipse with smooth lines to complete the construction of the shape. Erase the lines of the axis and the back of the ellipse, and make the front part of it very light, slightly visible.

Step 3

For each of the bells, also draw a separate axis. They will be positioned at an angle of 45 degrees to each other. Make the ellipses at the bottom and top of the bells different in width.

Step 4

Sketch the outline of the cone approximately. The main thing is to achieve its believable image.

Step 5

Do not draw a spruce branch in detail. It will be enough to mark the bases of the branches, and it is better to draw the needles immediately with paints.

Step 6

Color the drawing with watercolors. Take the thinnest brush (# 1), mix a light brown color with a small amount of red in the palette. Mark the ball with thin lines. When the paint is dry, brush it off with a clean brush on the left side of the object, which is more illuminated.

Step 7

On the central part of the bells, draw a colored reflex from the ribbons. To do this, use light brown and burgundy colors. In the shaded areas on the sides, apply stripes of dark brown with green and yellow.

Step 8

For the bud you will need several shades of brown and blue. In highlighted areas, add a cool tint to the brown, and when moving into the shade, use a warm reddish.

Step 9

The most painstaking work lies ahead when painting a spruce branch. Draw each needle in one color. Then, when it's dry, apply a different shade to each of the needles. See which part of the green is darker, and where it is lighter and colder in shade. By the same principle, disassemble the branches themselves by shades along their entire length.
