In order to draw a branch of a mountain ash, it is necessary to reflect in the drawing the features of the structure of the shoots and leaves of this tree and depict bunches of berries. Branches are drawn first, berries are drawn last.

Instructions

Step 1

Start by sketching a branch that will hold the bunch and leaves. Rowan branches are thin enough, have knotty compaction. Inflorescences and clusters of berries are located at the ends of the shoots. In the place of growth of these brushes, cuttings of leaves are separated, on the branch itself there are practically no leaves.

Step 2

Draw rowan leaves. They consist of several separate oblong leaves, located symmetrically on either side of the cutting. There can be up to 23 such leaves, their edges are slightly serrated, in the center there is a dense groove, from which veins extend in both directions. The leaves are quite large, the largest are comparable to the size of a human head.

Step 3

Draw clusters of rowan berries. Each branch has one such brush at the end, which is divided into many thin stalks. Rowan berries are rounded, with a tiny lower ovary at the end. Each bunch can contain up to 100 berries. Keep in mind that, unlike the bunch of grapes, the rowan cluster is flatter. In addition, under the weight of ripe fruits, branches can bend downward.

Step 4

Start coloring. Use dark red-brown shades for the woody part of the branches, add green to the paint on the knobby parts of the shoots.

Step 5

Use a rich green color for the leaves. Highlight the middle groove and veins with a lighter shade. Keep in mind that rowan leaves turn red much later than the ripening of the berries, so at the beginning of autumn, despite the red fruits, they remain bright green. After they begin to acquire a yellow-brown color, the green pigment begins to disappear at the groove and veins, while the berries remain on the branches in winter.

Step 6

Color the rowan berries in a bright red-orange color. Note that fruits in the foreground will cast a shadow on those farther away. In addition, the color of the berries may differ slightly on one brush.
