Valery Yakovlevich was born on the day of cosmonautics - April 12, 1965 in Kharkov. He graduated from one of the local schools, after which he went to Moscow to enter the institute of metallurgical direction. Graduated from there in 1987, becoming a specialist in steel and alloys.
