Where and how to plant daylilies
Daylilies will also grow in a shaded area, but bloom more abundantly in the sun. Plants are not demanding on the soil. It is important that the soil is not acidic and does not get wet in the spring. If you fill the soil with humus and dig it well onto a shovel bayonet, then for several years the plants do not require additional nutrition. Unless in dry weather, with watering, it will bloom longer and more abundantly. Depending on the variety, daylilies are planted and divided after 4 … 5 years. New varieties do not grow as quickly as old ones.
"Delenki" are planted in spring, autumn, without deepening the root collar. For the winter, the foliage is cut off and the root zone is mulched. If desired, daylilies can be transplanted in summer, but the flower arrows will need to be cut for better survival.
Daylilies look great in flower beds, along paths, near water bodies. Flowers open, changing each other daily. They are suitable for cutting and take a long time to bloom in water. The flowers are cut when the first flower opens on the flower arrow.
You can choose the varieties of daylilies so that flowering begins from June to September, then the beauty of daylilies in the garden will delight for a long time.
