On the eve of New Year's holidays or in preparation for an ordinary matinee, many mothers rack their brains, choosing a children's suit. I want the outfit to be the best, standing out against the general background of endless bunnies or snowflakes. Perhaps, here it is worth thinking about creating an author's costume for a little prince or a young princess. A crown should be an indispensable attribute of such an outfit.

It is necessary

  • - thick paper or thin cardboard;
  • - colored paper or self-adhesive film;
  • - pencil;
  • - scissors;
  • - paper clips;
  • - stapler;
  • - old Christmas tree toys;
  • - unusable CDs;
  • - confetti;
  • - glue.

Instructions

Step 1

Determine the size of the future crown. To do this, measure the head, which the crown will decorate, with a measuring tape. Add another 3-4 cm to the found value so that you can fasten the headdress.

Step 2

Transfer the dimensions of the crown to a sheet of thin cardboard or thick paper (whatman paper). Note the length of the workpiece and its height. The height can be different - from a few centimeters to 15-20 cm. It all depends on the scope of your ideas. The higher the crown, the more status its owner is likely to have.

Step 3

Mark the teeth of the crown with a pencil along the top edge of the headdress. The teeth can be either traditional triangular or intricate. It is not necessary to make the upper part of the crown unnecessarily ornate and complex, since small details can ultimately look completely inexpressive. The simplicity of the crown shape will largely determine the success of the entire costume.

Step 4

Use scissors to cut out the blank for the future crown. Decorate the outside of the crown before stitching it into the finished piece. To do this, you can stick pre-cut pieces of colored paper or multi-colored confetti on the crown. On the teeth of the crown, glue the triangular inserts from the unwanted CD with the shiny side outward. You can cut the disc with ordinary large scissors.

Step 5

To give the crown an even richer look, sprinkle it with finely crushed glass Christmas tree decorations, if any in your household. Grind fragments of unnecessary or broken toys in a mortar so that the glass turns into small and safe grains.

Step 6

Apply a thin layer of glue to the surface of the crown in the desired places, and then sprinkle crushed glass on the glue. Such a crown will shimmer under artificial lighting, like an exquisite piece of jewelry.

Step 7

Now permanently fasten the ends of the finished strip with a stapler so that the seam is at the back of the crown. Before that, it is advisable to try on the hat again, so as not to be mistaken in size.
