Preparing for children's costume matinees involves a lot of pleasant festive troubles. And if the parents have to create an outfit for a little princess, then first of all it is necessary to take care of the most important element of this costume - a luxurious crown.
A graceful, fabulously beautiful and elegant crown for a princess is obtained from a cut of a lace ribbon. The height of the future crown will depend on the width of the lace, and its length can be arbitrary - both equal to the circumference of the child's head, and very small, to create a miniature crown, like princesses from cartoons and fairy tales.
Lace of the required length is laid out on a flat surface with plastic wrap, tracing paper or foil under it. The lace is thoroughly coated with PVA glue so that it saturates the entire fabric well - this measure provides rigidity and helps the crown to keep its shape. At this stage, you can give the jewelry the desired color by painting it with golden or silver spray paint.
PVA glue can be replaced with starch solution or universal glue for decoupage.
After the glue has completely dried, the lace is decorated with rhinestones, sparkles, beads or artificial ornamental stones. The decor elements are fixed on the fabric using Moment transparent glue. The bottom edge of the crown can be decorated with a store-bought braid with multi-colored sequins. The edges of the lace ribbon are overlapped in such a way that the pattern matches and glued.
The upper lace elements are slightly bent outward so that this part of the crown is slightly wider than its base, after which the decoration is fixed on the little princess's hair using invisible hairpins or beautiful hairpins.
Crowns made from patches of light felt look no less elegant. A sketch of a future crown of any shape is drawn on paper, cut out and used as a template. The paper blank is applied to the fabric, fixed with tailor's needles and outlined with a pencil. The cut out blank of the crown is decorated with embroidery, beads or rhinestones.
Beautiful beads are sewn onto the tops of the crown petals, the edges of the fabric are joined and sewn from the seamy side with inconspicuous stitches. The crown is placed on a piece of felt and contoured to make its bottom. The cut out circle is neatly sewn to the walls of the crown. The joints of the parts can be masked with decorative braid, beads or satin ribbon.
To make the crown look no less beautiful from the inside, another circle is cut out of felt of a contrasting color, coated with glue and put inside the jewelry, smoothing the places of fixation. A clip-clip is sewn to the bottom of the crown, which is either painted in the color of the crown, or smeared with glue and sprinkled with sparkles.
To make the crown look realistic, it is recommended to slightly bend its petals outward or sew heavy beads to their tops.
A fairly simple, but elegant and beautiful crown for a princess can be made from a plastic bottle. To do this, a narrow upper part and its bottom are cut off from the bottle, leaving an even wide blank.
On a sheet of paper, they draw by hand or print the desired shape of the future crown on a printer and insert the sketch inside the plastic blank. Using a marker, the contours are transferred to the plastic and the front part of the crown is cut out along it. The remaining plastic is carefully trimmed with scissors, leaving a narrow rim so that the jewelry can be put on the head. With the help of stained glass paints, the crown is painted in the desired style, decorated with rhinestones and beads, or painted golden.
