What to make a volumetric star
The most affordable material for the manufacture of design elements is paper. In stationery stores, you will find a wide variety of paper types, including thick paper. Thin cardboard from the children's kit is also suitable. The volumetric star made of ordinary wrapping cardboard covered with fabric also looks interesting. Red or yellow satin, velvet, silk and even knitwear are suitable for pasting. You will need a template, you can find it on the Internet or make it yourself. Also prepare drawing supplies, scissors, a cardboard knife and glue.
How to make a template
The template for making a volumetric star is a rhombus. The ratio of the angles can be arbitrary, but the best option is 135 ° and 45 °. The length of the sides depends on the size of the composition. It is best to start with the long diagonal of the rhombus. Draw a straight line of the desired size (keep in mind that the finished star will be about one and a half times this segment). Divide the diagonal in half, draw perpendiculars of the same length to the mark in both directions. Connect the end marks to the ends of the first line segment. On all sides, make 1 cm allowances for gluing. Cut out the template.
Double-sided or single-sided?
For a wall-mounted composition, you will need a one-sided star. Therefore, the template must be transferred to red or yellow thick paper. For a star, which will be mounted on a pole, you will need 10 blanks. Bend each workpiece along a long diagonal. Fold the seam allowances to the wrong side.
Assembling a one-sided star
On each workpiece, mark one sharp corner. These corners should be in the center of the star. Glue together 2 blanks so that the marked points are next to each other. You have 2 beams that diverge at the junction of obtuse corners. Glue another ray so that the marked corner is also in the center of the star. Attach the fourth and fifth rays. It is best to attach such a star for allowances to tapes or pieces of fishing line stretched on the wall using plastic paper clips of a suitable color.
Assembling a double-sided star
To collect a double-sided star, start in the same way as a one-sided one. You should have two identical one-sided stars. Grease the loose seams with glue and connect the halves. If the decoration will be suspended from the ceiling, glue a long loop between the halves. But the star can also be on the shaft. In this case, between the two prongs, you need to glue a cardboard tube into which the shaft will be inserted. It is better to make the tube from the same material as the star itself.
