Making small paper stars with your own hands is extremely fun and at the same time very simple. Such stars are made of special mother-of-pearl paper, thanks to which they sparkle and shimmer very beautifully in the light. You can make paper stars with children.
Instructions
Step 1
You can start creating a small shiny star as soon as you buy special paper, already cut into stripes and ready to use. If you did not find such paper or did not want to search, you can do with ordinary thick colored paper. By the way, you can try to cut the pages of an old and unnecessary glossy magazine into strips of 1x28 cm and make stars out of them. These stars will be colorful and shiny.
Step 2
So, if strips of pearlescent, colored paper or glossy magazines are prepared, you can proceed. Take one strip and tie one end of it into a small knot. Now turn the workpiece over, then wrap its free end inward.
Step 3
Next, start wrapping the other end of the strip around each side of the future sprocket. Watch carefully how the strip is wound. Make sure that each subsequent layer intersects with the previous one and that the asterisk does not disintegrate. With a strip of paper 28 cm long, you will be able to wrap each side about two times. And make sure that the coils do not press strongly against each other, otherwise the star will not look very beautiful.
Step 4
When you are finished winding the strip around the pentagonal shape, wrap the tip of the strip inside the workpiece. The resulting pentagonal figure will be a pretty star, almost finished.
Step 5
The final touch remains: give your star an appropriate shape. To do this, you need to take the figure in one hand, and with the other hand bend inward the middle of each of the faces. In the end, you should end up with a three-pointed paper star, beautiful and shiny.
