Paper is ideal for making simple and fun DIY projects. From a blank slate, you can make a boat or a paper plane, a model of a revolver or a volumetric ball in a couple of minutes. But is it possible to cut out such a complex figure as a five-pointed star from paper? It turns out that you can, and for this you will not need a protractor or a compass with a ruler. Even a child who knows how to handle scissors can cut a star out of paper.

Colored paper or cardboard, scissors, glue

Instructions

Step 1

Take a standard A4 sheet of paper and fold it in half (as shown).

Step 2

Make a mental mark in the middle of the bottom edge of the resulting double rectangle. Fold the upper right corner of the rectangle to this imaginary mark. Run your finger along the fold to secure it tightly.

Step 3

Now fold the bottom right corner of the shape towards the hypotenuse of the triangle.

Step 4

Fold the only remaining top corner back.

Step 5

From the resulting folded figure, cut off the excess part, following the picture. The corners on the star will be sharper the sharper you make the cut angle.

Step 6

Now, to get the effect of a three-dimensional shape, bend the edges of the star in the desired direction. The star is ready. It can be used as a template for children's appliques, drawing or a variety of paper crafts.

Step 7

If you wish, you can make several stars of different sizes. To do this, bend the album sheet in half, then bend it again - as a result, you will have four identical rectangular blanks for small stars.

Step 8

You can also make a three-dimensional star from two stars cut from a template. Draw two star blanks on colored paper. Draw narrow trapezoidal flaps on both sides of each beam - they will be needed to glue the two halves together. Cut out both halves of the star along with the flaps. Bend the folds in the middle of the rays to add volume to the shapes. Glue the flaps bent inward to each other, connecting the halves.

Step 9

From two stars, cut according to our template from very thick paper or cardboard of two different colors, it is not difficult to make another version of a volumetric star. Having cut out both stars, make an incision in one of them from the top to the middle of the figure, and in the other - from the bottom, also to the geometric center of the star. It remains to connect the stars to each other, inserting one into the other using grooves at right angles. Such a multi-colored star will decorate any Christmas tree.
