Make a simple paper butterfly with your child - this activity perfectly develops fine motor skills of the hands. And the results of your joint work can quite adequately decorate the interior of the nursery. Several of these butterflies, suspended on threads or fishing line, will become an original mobile and will flutter in your house regardless of the season.

It is necessary

  • - thin, but durable paper (colored, or colored by yourself);
  • - scissors;
  • - strong thread or fishing line;
  • - glue / plasticine.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the paper if you decide to paint it yourself in different colors: draw simple patterns on it with wax crayons or paints. A very small child can simply "temper" the sheet with multi-colored pencils or crayons.

Step 2

Cut two squares out of paper or colored foil. To make the upper wings, you will need a slightly larger square than the lower ones. For example, make a larger square with dimensions of 15 x 15 cm, and a smaller one - 12 x 12 cm.

Step 3

Take a larger piece of paper and fold it in half diagonally, precisely aligning the opposite corners of the square. Then unscrew the folded part back, but at the same time make the fold 5 mm higher than the original one.

Step 4

Then follow the same steps as in the previous paragraph. Bend the top half of the square until the whole of it turns into an "accordion". Bend the other half of the sheet in the same way. The upper wings of the butterfly are ready.

Step 5

From the second smaller paper square, make the lower wings of the craft. To do this, repeat the operations described in paragraphs 3-5 of this manual. Squeeze both accordions tightly to help them hold their shape better.

Step 6

Press the folded upper and lower wings together and wrap them in the middle with colored thread, thin wire or fishing line, fasten tightly with a knot. If you are going to hang your craft, then leave the ends of the thread or line of sufficient length. Spread out all four wing halves by unrolling the accordion-folded paper. The corners of the lower wings can be rounded off by cutting them off with scissors.

Step 7

Now make the torso of the butterfly. It can be cut out of paper or molded from plasticine. Determine the size and shape of the body, focusing on the size of the resulting wings.

Step 8

For the paper torso, cut out two identical pieces. Insert the butterfly wings between them and glue the halves of the body. Or blind an elongated plasticine butterfly body and stick the wings to it.
