Hookah smoking is a whole art, in which all stages are of great importance, up to the ignition of coal.

Step 1
To begin with, there are several varieties of charcoal for hookahs, and they all light up in their own way. True connoisseurs of the art of hookah smoking prefer natural charcoal. It is believed that only such charcoal gives the hookah a delicate aroma, does not overpower the smell of tobacco, and does not have a lot of smoke. To light hookah charcoal, you need to make an effort: keep the charcoal on an open fire for 3-5 minutes until it turns gray on the outside and red on the inside. To do this, use a gas stove, turbo lighter or a special stove for lighting coal. After the coal has ignited, break it into several pieces and transfer to the hookah.
Step 2
Another type of hookah charcoal is self-igniting charcoal. Such coal is coated with a special solution, most often with saltpeter, which promotes rapid ignition. To light it up, warm it up for a few seconds with a match or a simple lighter. Self-igniting charcoal has several disadvantages: unpleasant odor and fast combustion time.
Step 3
So-called electric coals have recently appeared on the market. They do not need to be kindled at all, because they represent a special overlay on the hookah bowl with a heating element (spiral) and a pump with which air is driven.
