It's always nice to add a new thing to the interior of a room. Moreover, it is not necessary to purchase it in an expensive furniture store. A small thing for body and soul can be done by yourself. This approach has many advantages. For example, instead of spending a lot of time looking for a matching pouf, you can sew it yourself.

It is necessary

  • - chipboard,
  • - bars,
  • - glue,
  • - screws,
  • - the cloth,
  • - foam rubber,
  • - construction stapler.

Instructions

Step 1

Using a ruler and pencil, draw four rectangular blanks on the paper. Next, transfer them to a chipboard sheet and cut.

Step 2

Form the stiffeners. To do this, attach the chipboard blanks to the bars. You can fix the bars with glue or screws. Glue the bottom and then screw the bottom.

Step 3

The next step is to make a seat for the pouf. In doing so, it will serve as a lid for the interior space. The dimensions of the seat must match the dimensions of the bottom. To keep the lid firmly and not slide out, glue and screw on the stops from small blocks on the inside.

Step 4

To prevent the stops from touching the inner bars when putting on the lid, they should be fastened, stepping back from the edge - a little more than the thickness of the chipboard.

Step 5

Next, the seat must be sheathed. To do this, choose the fabric and color that would ideally fit into the interior of the room. If you plan to place the pouf in the children's room, it is better to choose a bright and joyful color.

Step 6

Prepare a side piece pattern. Its dimensions should be equal to the height of the walls of the box. In this case, it is necessary to leave allowances for the gates at the top and bottom. Since a neat tuck and overlap will also need to be done on the side, the length of the fabric should be greater than the perimeter.

Step 7

Nail the inside of the fabric with a construction stapler. Cut out a thick piece of foam and glue to the top of the seat. For durability, also grease the foam rubber with glue.

Step 8

Leave the structure to dry. Next, cover it with the same material as the sides. When folding the fabric, make sure that the corners are neat. Nail in the right places with a stapler.

Step 9

Turn the ottoman upside down. Screw on the casters. Such a homemade pouf will not only be a great addition to the interior. It will be convenient to store toys and any other things in it.
