Coal is one of the most important elements in hookah smoking, you can buy it, or you can make it yourself. Consider a simpler option - with purchased coal.
It is necessary
- Hookah charcoal
- Gas or electric stove
- Lighter or matches
- Metal tweezers
Instructions
Step 1
If you have purchased fast-burning coals (coated with a special compound that includes saltpeter), then you only need a few seconds. Light a match or lighter and heat one charcoal tablet on all sides until it stops sparking and emitting smoke. You can also use special devices to light coal, but it makes sense to buy them only if you smoke hookah often enough.
Step 2
You will need a little more time to light the natural charcoals. But it's worth it: only natural charcoal makes the aroma of tobacco truly sophisticated. Such charcoal is used by gourmets and hookah connoisseurs. First of all, select charcoal according to the taste of the tobacco (for example, for grape tobacco, charcoal from grapevine, for orange tobacco, charcoal from an orange tree). For hookah smoking, 2-3 sections of charcoal are usually used.
Step 3
Heat the charcoal on a gas or electric stove or in an igniter until it is red hot on all sides. Be careful: heated charcoal is very hot, so use special metal tongs.
Step 4
Cut the heated charcoal into 3-4 pieces and place them on the center of the foil covering a cup of tobacco. Wait 15-20 seconds before taking the first puff.
Step 5
After a couple of minutes, when the tobacco is warm, spread the charcoal chunks evenly on the foil. Clean the charcoal every 10-15 minutes and shift it over so that it smolders evenly. If the charcoal is smoldering before you finish smoking, it makes sense to replace it with new one. Shake off the decayed charcoal on the saucer under the tobacco cup.
