An iron door in Minecraft is a surefire way to protect your home. It cannot be opened just like that and it is rather difficult to destroy. Moreover, it does not require a large amount of resources for its creation.

Step 1
An iron door can be crafted from six iron ingots. They must be placed on the workbench, occupying two adjacent verticals completely. Iron Ingots can be obtained from Iron Ore. It is easy to find in any cave below level 64. You can get iron ore with a stone, iron, gold or diamond pick. To get an ingot from an ore block, you need to melt it in a furnace. Iron Ore is one of the most abundant resources in the Minecraft world.
Step 2
Iron doors cannot be destroyed by aggressive zombies at high difficulty levels, they can sometimes survive the detonation of a creeper. Such a door cannot be opened with a right mouse click, unlike a wooden one. A secure door requires the use of auxiliary devices such as buttons, pressure plates or levers.
Step 3
Minecraft has its own counterpart to electricity - red dust. Experienced players use this technology to build calculators, complex traps, and even computer processors. Buttons, levers, stretch marks, and pressure plates are types of switches that activate a redstone signal.
Step 4
In the simplest version, it is enough to install one of the types of switches close to the iron door to open it. The button or lever can be placed on an adjacent vertical surface to which the door is attached. The pressure plate must be placed directly in front of the door.
Step 5
If you want to make a more complex circuit, you need to get some red dust. It can be mined from red ore, which is mined in huge quantities in deep caves. Its maximum concentration can be found between levels 1 and 16. You need to mine the ore with an iron or diamond pickaxe. In a few minutes, a lot of red dust can be collected, since four to five units fall out of one ore block. But at such a depth, one must act as carefully as possible so as not to fall into the lake of lava.
Step 6
A button, lever or pressure plate can be combined with a door with a chain of red dust. Place the switch no more than eight blocks from the door and run a red dust track on horizontal surfaces towards it. For safety, the red dust chain can be covered with other blocks to avoid accidentally destroying it. If you want to place the switch more than eight blocks from the door, you will need to make a repeater. It allows the transmission of redstone signals over long distances.
