In drawing a human portrait, it is important to master the technique of depicting individual parts of the face: lips, eyes, main features and, of course, the nose, without which no portrait will be complete. Noses are different for all people, but knowing the basic principles of the structure of this part of the face, you can easily draw a nose in a portrait of any person. Having outlined the main features of the face, its oval, as well as auxiliary lines of proportions, determine where the light falls on the face, and which nose you will draw in the portrait.
Instructions
Step 1
Draw a small oval between the eyes, and then draw a curved line downward, outlining an elongated triangle. Draw a triangle to match the angle of view and the angle of the face.
Step 2
After sketching the basic outlines of the nose, start detailing its shape. Round the tip of the nose slightly, giving it a three-dimensional shape. Don't make the common mistake of making the tip of the nose pointed or flat in your drawing, this will make the drawing look unrealistic.
Step 3
Having drawn the rounded tip of the nose, sketch in a rounded shadow under the nose, which should not resemble a triangle. Soften the shape of the nose by drawing a wavy line around the top border of the triangle, and then blend the wavy outlines so that they don't look too sharp.
Step 4
Slightly darken the area between the eyes and the upper part of the nose - a shadow should fall on the area of the bridge of the nose. Smooth out the lines that are too dark and add some light reflections. Draw a small semicircle starting from the right corner of the triangle towards the center of the right line to form the top of the nostril.
Step 5
Draw the side of the nose, drawing a line at an angle to make this side look three-dimensional. Darken the nostril area slightly and soften the shadow by blending. Make sure that the right nostril follows the shape of the triangle. Darken the places where the shadow falls, and treat the lighted places with a soft eraser.
Step 6
Work on smooth transitions between light and shadow, as well as achieve a smooth transition between the face and nose, so that it does not look like a separate part of the body. Add a lighter highlight to the tip of the nose. The location of this highlight determines the shape of the tip of the nose.
Step 7
Detail the shape of the nose as clearly as possible, and also pay attention to the difference between the brightness and shade of the cheeks - they should be different from the nose in shade. Adjust the colors, experiment with shadow and light, and then start painting the entire portrait.
