Fashion historian Alexander Alexandrovich Vasiliev prefers to talk with viewers and journalists about his creative projects, but he does not like to talk about his personal life. First love of Alexander Vasiliev

Young Alexander, at that time a student of the staging department of the Moscow Art Theater School, had ardent feelings for Maria Varlamova, who was also a student of this educational institution. In an article titled "Memories of a Collector" Alexander Alexandrovich wrote sparingly about that stage of his life: "In 1982, having married a Frenchwoman Anne Bodimon, I emigrated to France." Initially, this marriage was fictitious, since Vasiliev had to leave the country, overcoming bureaucratic obstacles. But then their relationship from the category of platonic went to a different level. Alexander and Ann have been married for 5 years, then a divorce followed.
The reason for the breakup was Ann's betrayal. At first, the fashion historian only guessed about the infidelity of his wife, and then he personally witnessed her betrayal. Bodimon subsequently married the same man with whom she cheated on Alexander Vasiliev, gave birth to three children. She has had an excellent career as one of the directors of French customs. Despite the breakup, the couple managed to maintain a good relationship. As Alexander Vasiliev admits, Anna calls him, wishes him a happy birthday.
These are the realities of today, and somewhere in the albums are black and white photographs from their wedding: a smiling bride in a white dress with a collar "under the neck" and with delicate calla lilies in her hands, a groom in a simple suit with a silk scarf. After a divorce from Anna, Alexander tried to restore relations with Maria, but nothing happened. As a result, Vasiliev completely surrendered to his passion - the history of fashion and collecting outfits from bygone eras.
Loneliness as a choice
In a marriage with Ann Botimon, Vasiliev did not have children. And since then, the art critic has not had official relations (at least they are not known to the general public). By the nature of his work, Alexander travels a lot around the world, giving lectures on the history of fashion and organizing thematic exhibitions. Arriving in Iceland with another creative and educational project, Vasiliev met a blue-eyed beauty named Stephanie, who was his assistant. But a long relationship did not work, because the woman did not want to follow him to France.
