On July 26, 1983, in the city on the Neva, Zafira Pashaevna Mgoyan was born into a family of Yezidi Kurds, who later became known under the pseudonym Zara. In a family of natives of Leninakan, who immigrated to St. Petersburg, there were three children in total. The popular singer also has an older sister, Liana, and a younger brother, Roman. Her father Pasha Bimbashievich Mgoyan once worked in the field of mechanical engineering, where he defended his Ph. D. thesis in physics and mathematics.
