Everyone knows this thick-skinned animal, the largest on earth. Incredibly large ears and trunk make the elephant's appearance extraordinary and amazing. Although an elephant sewn with your own hands is not as huge as a real one, it is also able to please and amaze others.
It is necessary
- - Shaggy gray fabric,
- - fabric in a contrasting color with polka dots,
- - synthetic winterizer,
- - coarse granulate,
- - 2 eyes 8 mm in diameter,
- - black floss,
- - ticks,
- - threads,
- - sewing machine,
- - needle,
- - paper for patterns.
Instructions
Step 1
Transfer the diagram shown in the figure to the pattern paper and enlarge it by 200%. The biggest detail is the bottom of the torso. Make two pieces for the back half and two pieces for the head. Work one piece for the middle of the head and four pieces each for the sole and ear. In this case, cut out a couple of ear parts from shaggy fabric and a couple from polka-dot fabric.
Step 2
Sew the darts on the parts of the head, then fold them inward with the front ones. These details need to be stitched from the beginning of the trunk to the neck. Then sew the middle piece between the one-piece head pieces.
Step 3
Place the piece of the ear cut from a shaggy fabric on the piece of fabric with polka dots with the right sides. Stitch, leaving the bottom hem unstitched. Repeat the same steps for the other ear.
Step 4
Fold the side parts of the body with the right sides and sew from the tail to the neck. Leave the incisions. Place the resulting upper torso piece on the lower one and sew. In places where the soles should be located at the feet, leave the sides unstitched.
Step 5
Insert the sole into the legs, inside out, sew. Turn the elephant inside out, trim the trunk allowance by 0.4 cm. Stuff the head tightly. Tie the seam on the neck with a strong thread and sew at a distance of 0.4 cm from the edge with the stitches "forward to the needle". Tighten the thread and sew the seam. Stuff your legs not very tightly with granulate, and the body with padding polyester.
Step 6
Sew on the ears so that their inner part looks out. Sew on the head, tilting it slightly to one side. For the tail, fold the strip of fabric inward with the right side, stitch along the edges. Make a brush out of black floss threads and insert it into the tip of the tail. Sew it up.
Step 7
Mark the location of the eyes with a pin. Pass a strong thread through the eyelet. Clamp the ear with pliers. Insert both ends of the thread into the needle and sew on the eye. When doing this, insert the needle inward towards the back of the head. Sew on the second eye as well.
