A cozy poncho is a great alternative to a warm sweater or vest. It is also important that there are poncho models that are very easy to sew with your own hands.
Such a poncho as in the photo looks very impressive due to the bouclé fabric, but it is sewn extremely simply and very quickly. I would also like to note that this pattern can be easily changed to your liking.
So, to sew such an elegant and warm poncho, take a woolen fabric, the length of which will be equal to the length of the future poncho + 2cm for the hem, and at least half the hip circumference + 10cm + 2cm for the hem + a (desired width of the "sleeve").
Helpful Hint: The so-called "sleeve" width (section "a" on the pattern) determines the look of your poncho. If you make it smaller, you can wear the poncho with a belt (sewn from the same fabric or leather). If you make it larger, the poncho will be very voluminous and resemble a real Indian poncho.
To sew a poncho, fold the fabric in half lengthwise, then across, also in half. Mark the middle of the fabric (mark with chalk or a pin), then unfold the fabric on a wide table and line the neck to size on the pattern. Cut out the neckline and cut the fabric along the red line.
Hem the bottom, top, side of the product, sew a bias tape over the neckline. If desired, sew a decorative button at waist level and a hanging loop.
After you have sewn the poncho, you can decorate it according to your own taste with embroidery, beads and beads, applique, trim with decorative braid, sew on tassels or fringe.
