Sew a useful and beautiful accessory with your own hands. It's very easy!
The kitchen apron protects the hostess's costume from splashing water and grease when cooking or washing dishes. But this is not only a utilitarian thing. A kitchen apron can be very pretty and stylish. And also a kitchen apron is a great thing to start sewing, not for nothing in labor lessons, many performed such a product as one of the first models when studying cutting and sewing.
If you are an inept craftswoman, you should start sewing with the simplest apron, which does not have a top, which can complicate the cut a little.
What fabric to choose for sewing an apron? Classic cotton fabrics are best suited - chintz, satin. Choose cheerful colors and your apron will delight you for years. Denim, linen are also suitable. You should not buy expensive fabrics for the apron, because the apron will quickly become stained and you will regret the money spent.
The simplest apron is a rectangle with two straps tied behind the back. On such an apron, rectangular pockets (one or two) are usually sewn. The process of sewing such an apron is extremely simple - we cut out a rectangle from the fabric (width about 60 cm, length about 50 cm), bend the fabric and hem the bottom and sides, and on top we sew a belt, which is a rectangle of fabric up to one and a half meters long, width 1, 5 cm in finished form. If you want to sew an apron of such a model for a child, you will need to take measurements (the length of the apron and its width) and cut out smaller parts.
Helpful hint: if you don't have a lot of fabric, the belt can be made from wide braid. It is also worth trimming the lower edge of the apron.
By the way, a simple apron can be sewn from old jeans. The advantage of such a model is also that there will be no need to sew pockets to the product.
Of course, the apron can be decorated to your liking with flounces, lace, applique, embroidery and so on.
