Step 1
Decide on the size and characteristics of the crossbow. Depending on your goals, you can make a lightweight and compact crossbow with the ability to shoot multiple times without reloading, or build a large offensive crossbow that can pierce thick steel plates. If the crossbow you are creating does not provide for the possibility of shooting, but is created by you for decorative purposes, you will spend less time and effort.
Step 2
Go to the Construction Department Store. Unfortunately, there are too few specialized stores with a similar theme to try to find it and buy everything you need there. It will be too expensive and not necessary. For the tensioning mechanism, you need wood or plastic with high deformation and recovery capabilities, otherwise the material should be as strong as possible and, in particular, beautiful. The mahogany finish is ideal for any size crossbow. If you will also make bolts (arrows) yourself, choose what type of arrowheads will be.
Step 3
Be careful when assembling. It is best to have a special protective mask that will protect you from unnecessary damage. If you have problems finding drawings, refer to specialized forums, there will always be a person on them who will help you find the diagram and deal with it.
Step 4
Don't forget that the crossbow is a serious weapon. It is great for hunting and can easily cripple a person. Make sure that children do not have access to it and that the bolts are securely hidden.
