Direct use of an IP address for a joint game on the Internet is considered not the most convenient way, since it involves determining the address, being on the network at the same time, negotiating rules, etc. Nevertheless, under certain conditions, it may be the only possible one.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that you are not downloading files, playing audio or video files from the Internet while playing, and shutting down the firewall you are using, or add the game to the firewall and anti-virus program exceptions lists. Make sure to use identical versions of the selected game.
Step 2
Decide which of the participating in the game will act as a server and determine your IP address. To do this, open the main menu of the system by pressing the "Start" button and go to the "Control Panel" item.
Step 3
Expand the "Network Connections" link and open the context menu of the connection you are using by clicking the right mouse button. Check "Status" and find your address.
Step 4
Launch the game (for host) and select the New Game option. Specify the required map on the Map tab and select the "Multiplayer" command.
Step 5
Make the necessary settings: speed, delay, etc. and press the function key below the Escape key to bring up the console.
Step 6
Find your IP address at the top of the window that opens and share it with other game participants (for the server).
Step 7
Select the "Multiplayer" item (for the connecting player) and invoke the console by pressing the function key under Escape.
Step 8
Enter the value connect as reported by host_ip_address in the console text box and confirm the creation of a new connection by pressing the Enter softkey.
Step 9
Download and install the specialized Hamachi program on your computer to use an alternative method of playing using IP addresses.
Step 10
Run the installed application and create a new network with an arbitrary name.
Step 11
Wait for the desired number of participants to join the newly created network. In this case, the network addresses defined in the upper area of the application window are used.
