Round dances, girls in elegant flying sarafans and guys in spacious shirts - this is the image that arises in the head when a folk costume is mentioned. Of course, one can judge about Old Russian fashion only by the surviving drawings, frescoes, some materials from archaeological excavations, and even from the records in the annals. And therefore, ancient fashion is recreated in modern drawings. It is no secret that today many eminent fashion designers use elements of the Old Russian style in their collections. How to correctly reflect in the picture the nuances of a folk costume, and not glamor smoothed out with glitter?
Instructions
Step 1
In drawing a folk costume, the main thing is the details: a combination of utility and beauty. The main elements of the image of a folk costume are a sundress, a kokoshnik (how can it be without it), a crown, and, of course, a unique ornament on each shirt. It was almost always individual, because it was embroidered by hand. Start drawing a folk costume best of all with a sundress. If you don't know what he looked like, then get yourself a picture of this outfit as an improvised material. Then it will be easier for you to sketch.
Step 2
Pay special attention to the sleeves and the length of the sundress. Previously, its length was determined by the social status and rank of the woman (married or not). In addition, the drawing of the ornament is of no small importance. If you are sketching from the original, then transfer the slightest bends to the paper, for it is the ornament that determines the beauty of the folk costume in your drawing. It must be clear and clearly visible. And in order to be able to correct shortcomings in the drawing, while it is not yet finished, it is better to use a soft pencil. It erases well without leaving marks on the paper.
Step 3
Keep in mind when working that the main thing is reliability. Correctly convey the feature of the same sundress. It was sewn in such a way that it did not at all emphasize the shape of the body. It was considered defiant.
Step 4
When coloring a picture, you can keep the original color scheme, or you can add your own color, but most importantly, if you want a folk costume to be just a folk costume, remember that its color depended on the fabric from which it was made and the color of the embroidery thread … There were no "leopard" trends in fashion then.
