To give the desired shape to the knitted part from the outer edges, sometimes you need to add loops. Increments can be made both outside the fabric of the product, and inside when knitting on circular or straight knitting needles.
Instructions
Step 1
If you need to add loops, add them better on the front side of your work. To add loops around the edges of the canvas, add a loop at the end of the row. To do this, knit the last loop in the row with the front one, leave this one on the left knitting needle, knit again with the front one.
Step 2
You can add a loop at the beginning of the row. To do this, insert a knitting needle into the 1st loop as you knit with knitting, pull the thread and leave it on the left knitting needle.
Step 3
If you need to add several loops at the very beginning of the row, then insert a knitting needle into the 1st loop, as you do with knitting, pull the thread. Leave a loop on the left needle. Then transfer the resulting loop to the left knitting needle. So you can add until you get the right number of loops. If you need to add loops at the end of the row, then lay the working thread around your finger (thumb), grab the thread and the resulting loop, then remove your finger and tighten the thread on the knitting needle. So you can add until you get the right number of loops. But when you knit the next row, knit according to the pattern.
Step 4
You can add stitches at the end of the row using the Italian Buttonhole Kit. Grasp the working thread with your right knitting needle, while the thread will be wrapped around the finger (index) of your left hand. Guide the right knitting needle under the thread and grab the loop, tighten it on the right knitting needle.
Step 5
If you need to add loops inside the canvas to shape the product, add from the front side, and knit a pattern from the wrong side. Given this feature, add loops through the row.
Step 6
If you need to add 1 loop inside the row itself, make a broach between 2 loops of the previous row. Pick up the thread with the left knitting needle and knit with a crossed front loop. From one loop, knit two sequentially - this will also increase the number of loops in a row.
Step 7
If you need to add two loops at once within the row, make a broach between 2 loops from the previous row, pick up the thread with the left knitting needle and knit 1 front loop, 1 purl and 1 front again.
