Usually, the instructions that accompany a particular knitted model indicate information such as the number of knitting needles, thickness and amount of yarn. In addition, sometimes even the knitting density is given, that is, an indication of how many rows and loops are for a sample of a certain size. However, in fact, it is necessary to correct the number of loops, since the knitting density is individual for each knitter.
It is necessary
- - yarn;
- - knitting needles;
- - hook.
Instructions
Step 1
Knitting density may vary based on factors such as experience with the pattern and the thickness of the thread, knitting needles or crochet. In addition, often even yarn from the same batch may have minor differences, which will affect the quality of the work. To calculate the exact number of loops, knit a small sample, and with exactly the pattern that prevails in the product. If needlework involves several types of different patterns, then it is imperative to knit each one, adjusting your calculations.
Step 2
Cast on 20 stitches and work in a pattern with at least 20 rows. Close the hinges of the last row and wash the sample with the correct detergent. Spread the knitting on a flat surface, pin with needles and dry, then make the calculations. Take measurements that you may need for calculations or measure the length and width of the pattern.
Step 3
For example, you need to knit a canvas 100x100 cm. Measure the knitted sample in length and width. Let's say its width is 10 cm. Perform calculations: 10 cm - this is 20 loops, therefore, 100 cm - there will be 200 loops. That is, the proportion is decided: 100 loops x 20 loops / 10 cm = the required number of loops. Thus, to knit a fabric, you need to dial 200 loops.
Step 4
Perform calculations in the same way to find out the length of the product. For example, the length of the sample turned out to be 8 cm. Make calculations: 8 cm - is 20 rows, so 100 cm - there will be 250 rows (100 cm x 20 rows / 8 cm = number of rows).
Step 5
To correctly calculate the number of loops and rows for the crocheted fabric, follow the same steps. Keep in mind that any stitch or chain stitch counts as one stitch. When counting the number of rows, keep in mind that different types of stitches - a simple column, a double crochet, or a double crochet - have different heights. Therefore, it is necessary to complete the entire proposed drawing on the sample.
