An excellent Christmas decoration for any beautiful Christmas tree is, of course, a star. You can buy a star in a store, or you can make it yourself, while saving your budget and making a wonderful top for your New Year's beauty. With all this, such stars can be used not only as a top for a Christmas tree, but also as a decoration for a children's room or office space for the New Year, May 9 or February 23.

How to make a star out of cardboard

It is necessary

corrugated cardboard sheet, paper, pencil, pliers, scissors, hairspray, cotton cloth, bright tinsel, PVA glue, tape, thin wire, glitter or confetti and a small stick 1 cm in diameter

Instructions

Step 1

Take a wooden round stick (drumstick, tree branch, etc.) and wrap it in spiral wire. Then carefully remove the wire from the stick. In such a way that it turns out to be a kind of foundation for the star. We recommend choosing the height of the stick in proportion to the height of the top of the tree.

Step 2

Draw a star of the desired size on a plain sheet of white paper with a pencil. Use scissors to cut a star to form a stencil. Trace two of it on the corrugated cardboard with a stencil.

Step 3

Cut out blanks from cardboard. You should have two star shapes of the right size. Now fold each ray in half so that there are clear bends. Separate the beams from each other with exactly the same bends.

Step 4

Fold the star so that the center protrudes slightly above the rays, then fold the two cardboard shapes with the corrugated sides to each other and insert cotton cloth (you can use cotton wool) between the folded stars so that you get a voluminous Christmas decoration. …

Step 5

Spread PVA glue on the entire surface of your resulting star. Sprinkle glitter (confetti) over the glue. Sprinkle carefully, making sure the entire surface of the star is covered with glitter or bright confetti. Let the star dry.

Step 6

Apply hairspray to the dry surface, and then glue a strip of tinsel around the perimeter of the entire edge.

Insert the prepared twisted wire, knotting it to the toy, and try the star on the tree. In this case, the star can be either a top or just a Christmas tree toy.

Use pliers to bite off excess wire.
