Guitar, chord schemes
Instructions
Step 1
Find a book with chord charts, or download chord charts online. Usually, chord schemes are built in the following way: they schematically depict 6 guitar strings and intersecting frets, usually fret numbers are affixed above them. The dots indicate the fret-string positions that should be clamped. Open strings are usually marked with a white circle. Slightly different designations may also be used, but the general principle is always this.
Step 2
Learn the basic chords using the schemes: major (for example, C, D, etc.), minor (Am, Em, etc.).
Step 3
Find chords for simple songs. For these purposes, songs of Russian rock bands or Brit-pop teams are suitable. Select the ones in which you already know all the chords. It is important that the song is familiar to you.
Step 4
Try playing the chord progression from this song. Play at a very slow pace. It is important that you change chords to the rhythm of the song, even if significantly slower than the original tempo of the song. This way, you will train your fingers to move from one chord to the next. Over time, the pace can be gradually increased. Don't fuss. Every time you change from chord to chord, try to make as little unnecessary finger movements as possible.
Step 5
With your right hand, try to repeat the rhythmic pattern you heard in the song. It's not always easy, you may need to simplify it first. But over time, you will succeed.
Step 6
Do the same with other songs. Over time, when you are comfortable with a few songs, try singing along to your accompaniment.
