Modeling with children is a useful and enjoyable business. It not only entertains and brings parents and babies closer together, but also develops imagination and fine motor skills. As objects for sculpting from salt dough, you can take heroes of fables and fairy tales - for example, an ant.

It is necessary

Flour, salt, cocoa, cinnamon, water, wire, foil, acrylic paints

Instructions

Step 1

Knead the dough. To do this, in a bowl, mix a glass of flour and half a glass of salt. Then, in small portions, stirring constantly, add three quarters of a glass of water. The amount of liquid may vary - if necessary, add more: the main thing is that the dough is strong and does not stick to your hands. To give the dough its natural chocolate color, add a little cocoa and cinnamon to it - then the material will also smell very nice.

Step 2

Divide the dough into three unequal parts: small for the head, medium and large for the two torso parts. Put the pieces that you will not work with at the moment in a bowl and wrap with cling film (you do not need to put them in the refrigerator).

Step 3

Roll balls from all the pieces one by one. Press lightly on the head part to flatten it, and form the oval parts from the remaining two.

Step 4

Cut three pieces of stiff wire, thread them through the body of the ant, and fold them down on both sides. Bend the ends of the wire at a distance of 1 cm parallel to the surface of the table so that the legs of the ant are stable.

Step 5

Moisten all three parts of the toy with water and connect them together.

Step 6

Put the finished product on paper in a dark place at room temperature for a day or two.

Step 7

After this time, dry the toy in the oven at 50 degrees. The ant will need to be placed on a baking sheet lined with foil and left in the oven for an hour.

Step 8

Cool the finished toy and paint with acrylics. For a durable finish, you can apply a glossy or matt acrylic lacquer on top.
