If your child needs a hare costume for the Christmas tree, don't rush to the store. Such a costume is easy to make: a ponytail-pompom and long ears are enough for a New Year's hare. If everything is clear with the tail - it can be cut off from the old hat and sewn to the trousers - then how to make ears?

It is necessary

  • You will need:
  • - white cardboard;
  • - paper;
  • - glue;
  • - wire;
  • - bezel;
  • - white fabric;
  • - foam rubber;
  • - a needle and thread;
  • - scissors;
  • - tinsel.

Instructions

Step 1

Over the long history of hare adventures on kindergarten Christmas trees, needlewomen have tried different methods of making ears. The easiest one is to make the ears out of paper and cardboard. Take a sheet of white cardboard and draw two ears. Cut out a strip of paper 3-4 cm wide and equal to the diameter of the head, plus a couple of centimeters for gluing. Fold the strip into a ring and glue the ends. Glue the cut-out cardboard ears to this blank so that when put on your head, they are in front. The bunny ears are ready.

Step 2

You can make the ears in a more laborious, but high-quality way. Such a suit will last longer than a paper one and will look more attractive. Take a dense metal wire and form a frame from it for two ears. Make the free lower ends of the blanks a little longer so that you can wrap them around the rim, which will hold the ears on your head.

Step 3

From a white fabric, preferably fleecy (velvet, faux fur, plush), cut two ears to fit the frame, plus seam allowances. Sew the parts together from the inside out, leaving the bottom unsewn. Stretch the part over the wire frame. If you want the ears to turn out to be more voluminous, put foam rubber or cotton wool inside the parts.

Step 4

Take the headband and wrap the loose ends of the frame around it so that the ears stand up when you put them on your head.

Step 5

To prevent the wire from crushing, glue a strip of foam rubber to the bottom of the rim. To hide the wire, wrap the headband several times around the entire circumference with a strip of white fabric. You can decorate the ears by trimming with silver tinsel along the edge.
