Shrovetide is a wonderful Russian holiday, rooted in pagan times. It is a pleasure to portray plots related to this celebration, because there is a place for fantasies to roam. And colors can be used contrasting and bright.

Step 1
Always start drawing with the markup on the sheet. You must know exactly what you want to portray. In order to draw a Shrovetide that would be recognizable, one should choose a traditional plot that instantly evokes an association with the holiday. For example, draw a stack of pancakes next to a samovar, decorating the drawing with a stylized Russian ornament. Using traditional kitchen utensils in a still life will help to cope with the task.
Step 2
Come up with a composition for the selected scene. Divide the sheet horizontally - this is the tablecloth line. Place the samovar, cups and pancakes on it. Large objects are best placed in the background, small ones in the foreground. Group the objects so that they create a single harmonious picture.
Step 3
Draw the outline of each item. Remember that if you depict a pancake round, then it will look as if you put it straight in front of you. To make the pancake lay on a plate, a slightly flattened oval is drawn. The shape of the plate follows the contour of the pancakes, while the back edge should not be visible.
Step 4
Close objects should be larger than those that are farther away. Please note that the samovar consists of simple geometric shapes, so you need to draw several ellipses of different diameters - they will show the volume of the spherical part of the samovar. When the main body of the sketch is built, refine the details.
Step 5
Color in the image. Use warm, vibrant colors to create a festive mood. To stylize the picture, be sure to add ornaments. So, a samovar or dishes on the table can be painted in the style of Khokhloma painting. This will require yellow, red and black pencils. The ornament can also be used to decorate a tablecloth. Find a suitable pattern as follows: enter the phrase "Russian ornament" into an Internet search engine and search in the image category.
Step 6
It is not necessary to completely sketch the white background - with light pencils, different in color from the objects, fill in the space around the utensils, and draw a pattern along the edge of the sheet. It is desirable that warm shades coexist with cold ones, and light objects with dark ones.
