Poetry is not just words that rhyme with each other. It is also a special state, when the author's soul lies on a sheet of paper not in letters, but in mysterious symbols that encompass love and joy, pain and disappointment. But no matter how sublime all this may sound, still writing poetry, and even more beautiful poetry, is a work and a clear work of the brain.
It is necessary
- - writing utensils or computer;
- - access to works of recognized authors.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you start putting together a poem, decide what you will write about. No matter how passionately you would like to share all your thoughts and emotions at once in a poetic form, remember that they should not look chaotic and confusing. Any poem should contain a complete thought, and the presentation should be harmonious and coherent.
Step 2
Determine the rhythm of your poem. It doesn't matter if you know what iambic or trochee is, you should clearly hear a certain tempo inside yourself, which should be maintained until the last line of your rhymed piece. Otherwise, it may be too complex and disharmonious to be perceived.
Step 3
When choosing a rhyme, try to avoid such pairs as "mine - yours", "you - me" and even more so use the same word as a rhyme. The Russian language is rich enough to pick up a graceful and "uncluttered" rhyme. Try not to start each line with the conjunction "and" or "a". In most cases, they only litter the poem.
Step 4
If you are going to write poetry often, it might make sense to have a notebook with tips for yourself - write words in it with emphasis on certain letters. Create a separate sheet or column for each end of a word. For example, for the accented ending "-nee", write in the words "rebirth / lust / obsession / delight" and so on. In case of difficulties with the selection of a rhyme, you can always look into your hint notebook.
Step 5
Use colorful images that evoke vivid associations, appeal not only to the reader's mind, but also to his imagination and feelings. For example, "When the aorta is torn apart by the souls, / Friends flock like crows to carrion …" or "… My prayers are fed by longing - / They go to your eyes to drink."
Step 6
Even if such turns of speech are not typical for you, choose capacious words and expressions. It is better to write three words with meaning than 20 lines in which you are trying to express one single thought. The poem is not a multivolume novel; it has different size requirements.
Step 7
And, of course, read poems by recognized authors. Read the classics. Enrich your vocabulary, look for beautiful rhymes, watch how those people who have been recognized by more than one generation as great and incomparable poets handle words. Inspiration to you.
